Obama set to sign jobs bill
The Senate passes the $17.6-billion package to help employers who hire and keep new workers, and to boost construction projects with the transfer of highway and mass-transit funds.
President Obama is expected to sign into law Thursday the first significant job-creation measure passed by Congress since Democrats vowed this year to attack the nation’s high unemployment rate.
