Creative community mailboxes notwithstanding, the key to keeping your mailbox functional and tasteful is to make sure that it does not fall into disrepair. A good rule of thumb to follow is that if it is ten years or older, you need to seriously consider its condition. If you find that wear and tear is too great, do not hesitate to buy a new mail box. After all, in most cases, the mailbox is the first thing that a neighbor encounters when approaching your house.
These too oft-overlooked features of the overall home aesthetic can provide a spectacular boost to the look of your home if updated with care it should not look like commercial mailboxes. Keep tabs on the condition of your home front mailbox at regular intervals to ensure a well kept house.
