Mark Martin, the Most Under-Appreciated NASCAR Driver

My favorite NASCAR driver is Mark Martin. He may not seem like a very likely candidate for a favorite NASCAR driver, but let me explain a bit about why he is so great. He is consistently one of the best drivers on the track – sure, he doesn’t get a whole lot of wins, and isn’t the one who everyone pays attention to. Unlike the more popular drivers who win lots of races though, he doesn’t crash very often. The more popular, flashier drivers often take risks to try to get ahead, and they may do very well in one race, but then they crash and end up last in another. Mark Martin is very experienced, and he is a much mo re consistent driver than most of the other drivers. Despite being a safe driver, he also is pretty exciting to watch, although the NASCAR announcers don’t usually pay a lot of attention to him. Following him when I watch NASCAR on tv satellite is the best way to watch a race – exciting, but without too much worry that he will crash and ruin his day.
